Nobody give a sh*t about Graham Spanier. By displaying Joe Paterno's scalp at their press conference, they essentially endorsed the very culture and cover-up which led to this scandal in the first place.

Spanier and the board has wanted to get rid of Paterno for years. This was their moment.

Don't get me wrong. JoePa set himself up.

Joe could have been the hero of Penn State back in 1998 if he had stood up and confronted Sandusky, Spanier and everyone else.

Instead, Joe kept his head down and pretended nothing happened. He hired McQueary as an assistant coach and still claims he did not know the details of what McQueary say?

Spanier is a radical liberal. Obama considered Spanier for Secretary of Education in 2008.

I'm sure Joe wishes he had done exactly that now. But, at the time, there were still lines of authority and proper protocol which was supposed to be followed, which he did.

Another lesson to conservatives who think we have to fight the enemy according to the Marquis of Queensbury rules.
