What he said was twice as shocking as anything that's been released thus far.
"I can give you a rumor and I can give you something I think might happen," Madden told John Dennis and Gerry Callahan. "I hear there's a rumor that there will be a more shocking development from the Second Mile Foundation -- and hold on to your stomachs, boys, this is gross, I will use the only language I can -- that Jerry Sandusky and Second Mile were pimping out young boys to rich donors. That was being investigated by two prominent columnists even as I speak."
Madden also spoke more definitively to the cover-up efforts at the school and beyond that he expects will be made public soon.
"The other thing I think that may eventually become uncovered, and I talked about this in my original article back in April, is that I think they'll find out that Jerry Sandusky was told that he had to retire in exchange for a cover-up," Madden said. "If you look at the timeline, that makes perfect sense, doesn't it?

I feel a larger issue here too is that this is an example of what happens when we make idols of men. We place them on pedestals, we make excuses for their wrongdoing, turn the other cheek or simply fail to believe what they have done. In turn, they idolized grow larger than life in their own minds believing themselves to be invincible and above the law.
We have created this monster in our society by giving too much power to the famous. Too much influence in our judgments and thinking.
It’s exactly why Obama gets away with repeatedly breaking the law.
To keep sex rings going, such as this, murder would come into play somewhere as well, to keep the victims quiet.
CBS Sports reporter Greg Doyel has learned that the PA Attorney General has this rumor 'on the radar'. Dan Bernstein of CBS Chicago is saying that investigators are checking Sandusky's 'Second Mile' charitable donors who've had curious man-boy relationships.
Something more has to be behind the 40+ counts of sexual abuse of a minor that Sandusky's been charged with.
And yes, at this point the NCAA needs to be looking into shutting down Penn State's football program for about five years. As another poster said, this does make the Southern Methodist University recruitment scandal look like a misdemeanor next to a violent felony. There's just no way they could justify not shutting their program down.
Yes it is! I was looking up links for the Franklin Coverup and saw you had already posted it, then I tried to respond and the moderator had killed the thread. I found this thread and saw that you had not re-posted it, so I "lifted" it and posted it here. (great minds think alike). Thanks for the link. I did not know that there was a documentary on it.
The Ped U rioters are demanding that Lot hand over the angels.
Where did they find ‘two prominent columnists’ who actually do investigative reporting? That is more shocking than RUMORS!
You misspelt "Loins"
marking for later...
What’s the over/under on how long it takes the NAACP/CBCaucus/Jackson/Sharpton to urge the NCAA to void Paterno’s wins and recognize Robinson as the winningest coach in college football history?
ping
Also....was looking over the foundation's tax return info via several articles and Sandusky was making 59K a year salary and more $ for fundraising. Who approved that money and why did they approve it amongst all the allegations? And was he using that money to buy the boys gifts etc? (Probably a combo of that money and his retirement from Penn U)
Monsters definitely exist.
lets just hope that Lot does not offer up his daughters....
I am in agreement with you.
There was a situation of that type when I was in high school. It was hushed up; the (main) teacher involved was dismissed.
‘. Shes either the dumbest person alive or she was also and enabler and should be ashamed of herself”
An enabler helps you buy booze, drugs, or food. An accomplice helps you cover up a felony. There is a major difference. If she knew and didn’t report it then she (or any wife) is just as bad.
“How was this story kept so under wraps?”
POLITICAL CORRECTNESS...
Linebackers Are Jerry Sandusky's Business, But Not His Only Business
Dec. 6, 1982
"Sandusky and his wife, Dottie, who couldn't have children of their own, adopted a son in 1969. Since then they have adopted four more childrencurrent ages five through 19and have helped raise three foster children. For a time they were a host family each summer for children placed by the Fresh Air Fund of New York City. "After we had taken in some foster children," says Dottie, "we saw the opportunities that some kids just hadn't had. But we'd gotten to the point where we couldn't take in any more, so Jerry started thinking about starting a group home. The book seemed like a good opportunity to get it off the ground." (Since Developing Linebackers was published in 1981, it has netted about $15,000.)"
"The Sanduskys incorporated The Second Mile in 1977. With legal help donated by a Penn State professor, they were granted tax-exempt status, and by 1980 they had raised enough money, $64,000, to buy 20 acres of farmland two miles from Beaver Stadium. Several businesses agreed to chip in the supplies for building a house, and a local contractor agreed to build it for the cost of his labor."
Houseparents were hired last spring, and The Second Mile should have its full complement of six boys by early winter. With luck, says Ron Coder, the executive director of the home, another will be started in three years. "Naive me," says Sandusky, "sitting back there five years ago saying, 'We're going to start a group home.' If I'd sat down then and said, 'It's going to take this and that, and this many people will have to be involved,' I probably wouldn't have done it. The toughest thing has been selling something that didn't exist. I think it will be easier now that we can say, 'Look, there it is: a home and a family for six kids who didn't have either one.' "
