Paterno's legal requirement was that he notify his superior, but on Monday Pennsylvania State Police Commissioner Frank Noonan suggested there was a "moral responsibility" for the coach to make sure police were contacted."

"Here's the timeline that counts:

• ✓ Week One: Paterno is out. In disgrace. Deal.
• Week Two: Sandusky flips in the formal interrogation and names names. Whole lotta names.
• Week Three: NCAA announces they will "contemplate sanctions" against Penn State and then hide their eventual near-total inaction behind Sandusky's very public prosecution.
• Week Four: Penn State is gonna get hit with the biggest lawsuit of this nature ever. And they're gonna pay every penny."
