STATE COLLEGE -- More than a thousand Penn State students are moving between the campus and downtown, chanting in support of football coach Joe Paterno, whose job has been questioned over his handling of sex-abuse allegations involving a former coach.
Crowds began to gather around 10 p.m. on Beaver Avenue. After police in riot gear told them to move along, the students moved to Old Main. They sang the alma mater, professed their love for Paterno and profanely denounced Sandusky. They pointed toward Penn State president Graham Spanier's still-lit office. Then, after a brief "back to Beaver" chant, the crowd returned to Beaver Avenue.

I read that Paterno reported it to the higher ups at the university...wasn’t it THEIR responsibility to call the authorities? (Not that he could NOT have, or could have told the administration he would go public if they did not...like that would happen.../s)
Penn State head coach Joe Paterno is greeted by hundreds of students at his house as he returns home from practice. The students showed up to support the long-time coach who has taken criticism over his dealing with the Jerry Sandusky case.
I know this is an uber serious mess, but I got a chuckle out of your post.
What planet are you from? Joe Paterno carries more authority there than all the people you cite combined!
You do know a previous DA looking into this completely disappeared?

He reported it to the campus police. Why not make your complaint to them, the athletic department head, the school president, the district attorney - all who have more authority than Joe. Why single him out and not the ones with authority?
Joe Paterno was Penn State. You have a man who was a living legend and icon. A man who preached honor and integrity.
A man who did not follow up on a report that his one-time successor was sodomizing a young boy in the showers of his locker room!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Why is this so hard to understand? Technically, he did what he was supposed to do. Fact - this guy continued to abuse children. Don’t you think it’s strange that Joe Pa never questioned this or inquired about what happened???
A man of honor and integrity does not simply report the abuse of a child. A man of honor and integrity puts the safety and welfare of children above his career, football program, and school.
Hope that makes sense..... this story is so disgusting on so many levels it is unimaginable. Failure to report the abuse of children is horrible. Not reporting it when you know the abuser continues to have access to vulnerable children is unforgiveable.

I have friends who are being completely stupid and going down to the protest to take pictures. I’m going to try and keep everyone updated from what I hear from them but keep them in your prayers even though they are stupid for going, but my one friend is obsessed with photography and they are die hard Penn State Alumni...
If a certain someone had stayed there in the first place, this never would have happened!
If this is the way the student body is going to react, they need to just go ahead and forfeit the rest of their games.
The support for pederasty is strong in pervertville.
How appropriate it’s ‘Beaver Stadium’ because McQueery acted like a pussy.
He should have reported it to the real police.
I agree.
