Then, not long after, Sandusky ‘retired’ but was still allowed access to PSU facilities for his camps.

I've been wondering why Sandusky retired when he did, a fairly early retirement by most standards. I expect some more information will come out about that and more dots will be connected in the coming days.

I remember at the time Sandusky was considered a legendary defensive coach, he was as lauded as Paterno was. Because of Sandusky, Penn State was called “Linebacker U”, there are several NFL Hall of Famers, who literally owed their careers to Sandusky.

Sandusky “retired” shortly after being investigated by the local police in 1998 - in a town of 20,000 or so people I doubt the men at the university did not know about this investigation where he admitted to showering with the boys. I believe we will learn he was told to “retire”
