Yea, but with the Syrian and Iraqi nuke programs we didn’t even hear chatter of an Israeli strike beforehand. They were literally bolts out of the blue.
There has been talk of an Israeli strike on the Iranian nuke program for 10+ years. If Israel does end up hitting the Iranians, the tactic appears to be to lull them into a sense of complacency . . . always talking/posturing for an attack but never pulling the trigger - until one day they actually do.
Think about the Egyptians back in 73’. They would regularly mobilize and send a chunk of their military up to the Suez and feint an attack. Golda Meir had intel about the Epgytian mobilization prior to the attack across the Suez but didn’t think much of it because it was just the same old same old . . . until it wasn’t
