the weirdest poll i’ve seen recently is the one from today showing Romney leading in South Carolina... I just threw that out, since that can’t possibly be true, it just doens’t jive with a single other poll.

There was another poll from ... I think it was Virginia from a week or two ago that showed Romney leading there too unexpectedly, I also ignored that one but if another poll comes out from that area with Romney doing well ... I might have to reconsider my outlier premise

That poll doesn’t include leaners. So that tells us that solid Cain support is not quite as strong as solid Mitt support.

Which is to be expected. People who are solid Mitt supporters have been Mitt supporters for some time now. He ain’t going anywhere. Cain, on the other hand, you’d expect a substantial proportion of his support to come from leaners.
