You obviously didn’t read the article.

The poll was taken yesterday.

“This Florida survey of 788 Likely Republican Primary Voters was conducted on November 8, 2011 by Rasmussen Reports.”

Despite all the hooplah and hype heaped on New Hampshire and Iowa, Florida is the state which really matters and the state which has picked the nominee for the last 50 years.

You can't be like Rooty and put all your eggs in the Florida basket, but if Iowa and New Hampshire produce different winners as they generally do, this is where the final decision is made.

Florida works almost as well in the general election too. You need only look at three states: Florida, Ohio and Pennsylvania. Anyone who wins two of the three wins narrowly. Anyone who wins all of them has a cakewalk in the rest of the country.
