THE COLONY -- Speculation has been rampant in recent days about what exactly is being built in The Colony to the tune of $1.5 billion.
The answer? What might possibly be the world's biggest single-use retail store. Namely, Nebraska Furniture Mart, a company owned by Warren Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway.

Well there sure is enough empty space there and it is in the path of where growth seems to be moving. Btw, what is all the big deal with In And Out Burgers lately? I wasn’t impressed. The name seems to be a description of what it does to your digestive system.
Oh, I had an IN N OUT burger last Sunday night. I was in heaven. Taste is pretty much subjective. But I wish more and more people would feel like you do because there’s always a freakin line there! Even here in Texas. Dang........
Surprised it isn’t going somewhere on the 380 corridor between Denton and Frisco/Prosper (specifically near where the Dallas North toll road currently dead ends at 380).
I like that 380. I take my motorcycle on rides on it. In fact, I bought my motorcyle in Greenville and took the 380 all the way.......The Colony needs this though. It’s a weird town, against a lake, one main street through to LIttle Elm and businesses have a tough time.....
While that area has seen some growth lately, it's still too far north. The day will come when that area explodes like Frisco did, but not yet.
One place they are NOT building mega retail: California. I just came back from Sactramento and there are plenty of empty stores.
Even the In and Out we used to go to was slow. I mean no line, most seating available. Three years ago, we would be hawking for an empty table.
It makes sense that Texas is what America used to be.
The reason the In n Out is slower is because they have opened up so many of them in recent years.
When ours in San Jose opened about 10 years ago, it was one of the first in the Bay Area, and now there are a ton of them. It’s just not as special as it used to be. My kids used to love going to In n Out, but they are even tired of eating there.
Retail stores is another story. Lots of them closing!!

Yeah, I think if you eat anywhere too often or too much, you’ll probably get tired of it after awhile. We usually only do IN N OUT about once every 3 or 4 weeks. And I been doing that for about 45 years now. The one I had last Sunday, I was very hungry and it was the best burger I ever had.
