Detective Ronald Schreffler testifies that he and State College Police Department Detective Ralph Ralston, with the consent of the mother of Victim 6, eavesdrop on two conversations the mother of Victim 6 has with Sandusky. Sandusky says he has showered with other boys and Victim 6s mother tries to make Sandusky promise never to shower with a boy again but he will not. At the end of the second conversation, after Sandusky is told he cannot see Victim 6 anymore, Schreffler testifies Sandusky says, I understand. I was wrong. I wish I could get forgiveness. I know I wont get it from you. I wish I were dead.
PSU police detectives Ralston and Schreffler never prosecute Sandusky. I'm not sure if Schreffler is still employed there; but as of earlier this year, Ralston was...And note how Ralston -- in 1998 and in the Jan. 2011 case below -- is able to come to these "snap"-like decisions that nothing "foul" has occurred. He seems to be like a ref who never throws a flag!
A Landisville man enrolled at Penn State University was found dead inside his State College apartment Sunday. Brandon Lehr, 22, was discovered by his roommate in their Beaver Avenue apartment when his roommate returned from Christmas break.Penn State's spring semester began Monday. State College police Detective Ralph Ralston said there was no sign of foul play, "nor do we suspect there was any foul play."

Police detectives don't prosecute. They referred it to the Centre County DA who declined to prosecute.
