EXCERPT: Rick Perry: The Best Little Whore in Texas
By Matt Taibbi, rollingstone.com
Rick Perry brings shallow to a new level. He is very gifted in that regard.
Perrys campaign is still struggling to recover from the kind of spectacular, submarine-at-crush-depth collapse seldom seen before in the history of presidential politics. The governor went from presumptive front-runner to stammering talk-show punch line seemingly in the speed of a single tweet, rightly blasted for being too incompetent even to hold his own in televised debates.......
But such superficial criticisms of his weirdly erratic campaign demeanor dont even begin to get at the root of why we should all be terrified of Perry and what he represents.
After all, you have to go pretty far to stand out as a whore and a sellout when you come from a state that has produced such luminaries in the history of political corruption as LBJ, Karl Rove and George W. Bush.
Rick Perry has managed to set a scary new low in the annals of opportunism, turning Texas into a swamp of political incest and backroom dealing on a scale not often seen this side of the Congo or Sierra Leone.
In an era when theres exponentially more money in politics than weve ever seen before, Perry is the candidate who is exponentially more willing than weve ever seen before to whore himself out for that money.
On the human level he is a nonpersonality, an almost perfect cipher a man whose only discernible passion is his extreme willingness to be whatever someone will pay him to be, or vote for him to be. Perry is a human price tag SNIP
Perry actually has a real heart for this, not just words and from everything I have seen, that is all Cain has.
I'm not voting for beauty contest either, and I get what your saying, but I'm also not voting for the candidates advisers, and with Cain it is obvious that is what I would be voting for, his advisers.
The ad ran in the Austin paper and was picked up nationally early in the campaign. So far no takers have come forward.
Hustler Magazine publisher Larry Flynt is putting GOP Presidential candidate Rick Perry in his crosshairs ... he’ll be offering up to $1 million for anyone who can prove Perry has had an illicit sexual liaison ... TMZ has learned.
The ad — which Flynt will take out in various newspapers — says, “Have you had a gay or straight sexual encounter with Governor Rick Perry?”
Flynt — clearly not a fan of Perry, who opposes same-sex marriage and is generally very conservative on social issues — has done this before, but didn’t limit his targets to Republicans. In 1998, he offered a similar bounty for dirt on Bill Clinton. And he’s made similar offers for info on all members of Congress.
Well, is he a hypocrite?
I would love to give her support.
Yeah, let’s all take Larry Flynt seriously because we all know what an upstanding guy he is. (wait a minute, he can’t stand up)
Woody Harrelson is about as good an image that old “show me some snatch” Flynt has.
Yup----he does have a prediliction for verbal goofs.
However, the PTB should be investigating how Ricky raises all that campaign cash. He has at least three PACs (that we know of) teeming with millions.
One FReeper was nice enough to tell us that Ricky raised some $55 million for one PAC from corporate donations.
Which raises lots of questions WRT how the companies listed the monies. Things like corporate reserve accounts, accounting entries, "donations" to non-profits and foundations, bundling to overcome campaign limits, for example, should all be checked.

I know what Perrys values are.
Yep, just as we know what the other candidates’ values are.
The point is that you said Perry hadn’t had to go through what Cain is going through and I just posted the ad that was run and the link to Larry Flynt’s $1mm dollar bounty for anyone who had sex with him.
So far no takers have come forward. ;)
KBH did float the “he’s gay” meme which went nowhere during the gubernatorial election so if there was something there, it would have come out then.
It’s stupid to think that a person who has never held public office before would not have all his closets opened in the election process. All the other candidates have had their backgrounds gone through before now because they’ve held public office.
Incentivizing illegal immigrants with in-state tuition is completely counterproductive and incongruent with the picture you’re trying to portray. Along with his penchant for verbal miscues and questionable campaign fundraising practices, there is plenty of questionable conduct to put Mr. Perry in a self made corner.
Maybe you should be questioning Mr. Perry’s accounting of that spent $400 million.
In his own words:
“We have a pathway to citizenship in this country today: its get in the line and do what it takes to get here legally. You cannot have a comprehensive discussion about immigration reform until you secure the border.”

Why do you say “partial fence?”
Perry has had NOWHERE near the scrutiny that Cain is currently experiencing, your comparison is somewhat tenuous.
Everyone knows that Larry is a smut peddler so trying to compare his smear job with a formidably organized and financed hatchet job that Cain is countering now has to be tempered a bit.
You need to go back and check again - I called you “negative,” not “defensive.”
But if the shoe fits.
I'm sorry, but letting them have instate tuition (which is not FREE) is not an incentive, it's a deterrant. Only very, very few quality and they must be pursuing a legal path (yes we do have a number of legal slots for immigrants including those from Mexico that are for people with a higher education and skill level)

Like his clone Romney, you can cherry pick articles where La Raza Rick espouses any position on the border you want him to have.
No sale.
If you’ve read “Texas Monthly” over the years, seen the “Austin Chronicle’s” (our very well financed “alternative” rag) attacks of pro-life, pro-family legislators, and followed the “Dallas Morning News,” “Houston Chronicle” and “San Antonio Express News” political reporting and op-eds, you would know how deeply the Governor has been vetted.
If there were a mere hint of scandal, we’d know about it. Ask Debra Medina, Chris Bell, Mama McClellan/Strayhorn or Bill White.
