You may want to pay a little more attention. The mug shot is of Mark Block, Cain's premier handler. The reason I posted it was because a statement was made earlier referring to Cain's ability to pick “superbly qualified people”, a contention I disagree with. Block himself has admitted to two DUIs, and he implies those took place after he was forced from the political scene due to an agreement he made in order to avoid a criminal charge and he began to drink heavily. However that would have been some time after 2001, and the mug shot is dated 1989. Clearly there was an arrest, and my belief is that he was either mistaken about the dates when he originally provided, or he was arrested for some other crime.

You’re talking about something that happened more than two decades ago. People change and his last DUI was a decade ago. I’m sure Cain knew about it when he hired Block as his campaign manager. People will say that’s ancient history. I tend to subscribe to the “let the sleeping dogs lie” school. The candidate and and his campaign manager seem to work well together and that does fit into Cain’s unconventional approach to politics.

Thanks for the clarification. I missed it by a Block.

Hopefully Cain will fire Block and find a worthy campaign manager.

Was Block successful in vaulting a neophyte politician to the top of the polls heap? I rest my case.

However with money pouring in, Cain could well afford more professionals running the campaign.

I think it's you who needs to pay more attention.

The mugshot does not address the assertion that Cain has an ability to pick superbly qualified people. Whether Block is a superbly qualified person is irrelevant to that. You're just doing what the left and the media are doing - throwing crap even if meaningless. Why is as yet unknown.

All you have done is put forth one individual who you assert is not superbly qualified by your judgment...which is obviously clouded. Has Mr. Cain risen in the polls farther than expected? Has Mr. Cain risen in the polls faster than expected? Has Mr. Cain stayed atop the polls longer than expected? Has Mr. Cain raised more money than expected? And you assert Mr. Block is not superbly qualified... really?

So besides throwing out a negative on Cain that is not even relevant, the negative is demonstrably ... wrong.

Focus.

..... What exactly is your point in all this? Posting a mug shot without providing the background circumstances makes me wonder about your motives in doing so. Did Mr Block massacre a busload of nuns? Was he arrested as a civil rights demonstration? Was he involved in a domestic dispute? Were charges dropped? Was he cleared? Pardoned? Was he sent to Death Row?

Kindly clarify.
