A case can be made that Paterno should’ve done more when given the evidence, but he did take it to Penn State authorities. THEY were the ones that sat on it. Nobody’s accusing Paterno of perjury, unlike the Penn State president, who was called out by the grand jury for lying under oath.

The Penn State administration is going to shove Paterno out the door over this, I’ll bet you’re right. But it won’t save them. They’ll be lucky if the faithful in Happy Valley don’t string them up.

No he wasn’t. Only Curley and Schultz were indicted for perjury.

My only knowledge of Graham Spanier’s character was when I read about him coming down like a ton of bricks on a faculty member who tried to censor a student’s controversial (anti-Palestinian terrorism) art display. He came across as a straight arrow then because he stepped in and did the right thing.
