hopefully this will make doctors think before handing our drugs and painkillers like candy to celebrities.

He made millions, and the most he is at risk for is four years in minimum security club fed, but most likely house arrest. And that house will be a mansion bought with all the money he scammed of MJ. If they took him out and shot him that might be a deterrent. But there are a lot of people who would risk a couple years in club fed for the sure thing of millions of dollars.

This was a state-court conviction, so no "club fed" available. Even the lowest security California state prisons are not very nice places. Plus he will lose his medical license, and he is now automatically guilty of medical malpractice (the only issue to be litigated in the estate's civil suit will be the amount of damages; liability has been established by the guilty verdict), so he will probably wind up broke as well.
