Per a grand jurys indictment of Sandusky, Paterno followed the chain of command when alerted to an incident involving Sandusky in 2002 per the grand jury, Sandusky was witnessed by a graduate football assistant engaged in anal sex with a 10-year-old in the shower of the Lasch Football Building informing athletic director Tim Curley of something involving the now-retired assistant coach. The schools administration allegedly took no action when it came to the alleged incident other than slapping Sandusky, who at the time was retired but was given an office and access to all things PSU, on the wrist, failing to report allegations of sexual abuse of minors as required by law.
According to the attorneys we have spoken to over the past 48 hours, Paterno was technically correct in his approach to the situation; he reported it to his superior. Morally, ethically, not reporting the allegations of sexual abuse of children to the authorities after it was clear that the administration he had reported the incident to was going to sit on its hands? Thats the blurred line of a moving target that shouldnt be so blurred, so moving.

You seem upset, bunky, that your hero screwed up. If you ever have someone come to you and report they witnessed the rape of a ten year old let's hope you now have learned that it's not enough to tell your boss and forget about it.
I know it must be hard for you to see your hero now disgraced, but calling people names isn't going to change that.
You know what, I’m too angry about this as I’m reading more about it.
I think JoePa should have called the cops is all.
The whole thing is a mess.
Please disregard anything I said that was offensive.
I’m signing off tonight.
