Yeah. I would use it, because there are a few people I don’t really care to see their posts, but as I said to another freeper...I don’t have too many posting mountains I personally want to die on.
If someone really dislikes something (say, animated gifs, which I am quite fond of and a collector of) and it is driving them crazy, I can be more sparing and judicious in my posting of them, if it makes someone else feel better.
I don’t view it as an impingement of my free speech...just speaking to a different audience is all.
I try to make the community here more harmonious if I can...:) I spend so much time here, if I had to keep dodging people because this one didn’t like this and that, it wouldn’t be very fun or informational for me.
I really wasn’t trying to start a flame war with ETL - which is why I stopped responding once she replied with the personal insult. I honestly thought that maybe she didn’t realize how obnoxious and distracting these repeated spam posts are.
BTW - if someone wants to avoid the animated gifs, there are extensions for most browsers that will allow you to do that. For example, I use the Chrome browser, and I see they have an extension called “Gif Stopper” that will disable the animations on a page if you hit the “escape” key.
