I thought the Constitution required the president and vice president to be from different states.
Newt Gingrich has been a VIRGINIA resident since @ 1999.
I’m told Gingrich is officially a Virginia resident. In any case, I was wrong. Only Georgia’s electors would have been prevented from voting for both candidates.
From Article Two of the Constitution:
“The Electors shall meet in their respective States, and vote by Ballot for two persons, of whom one at least shall not lie an Inhabitant of the same State with themselves.”
