(Reuters) - Three activists protesting economic inequality were struck by a car and mildly injured late on Friday night as they attempted to block traffic near a gathering of conservatives in the nation's capital, police said on Saturday.
The protesters, who were transported to area hospitals with no signs of visible injury, were cited for obstructing traffic late on Friday night, said Araz Alali, a spokesman for the Metropolitan Police Department.
"The driver saw he had the green light and the protesters then basically jumped in front of the vehicle to block traffic," Alali said. "It appears that the protesters jumped into the path of the vehicle."
Angry protesters circled the vehicle after it struck the protesters, police said. The driver was not cited.
The incident occurred on Friday as hundreds of protesters affiliated with the "Occupy DC" movement gathered near a convention center in Washington, D.C. where the conservative "Defending the American Dream Summit" was being held.

I watched the video of the protesters trying to get the police to arrest the driver. They should try jumping in front of a Virginian. There would be three dead protesters.

Michelle Fields, a video reporter for the Daily Caller, said she was stalked for three hours Friday while attempting to cover protests outside the Americans for Prosperity “Defending the American Dream Summit” at the Washington Convention Center.
Fields said she “did not feel comfortable, because at one point there were a whole group of men surrounding me saying, ‘F-Michelle Fields.’ And I went to a police officer and I told him that I felt these people were harassing me. And the police officer said he’d take care of it, but it never ended. These people were harassing me for the entire evening.”
One of the anti-capitalist “Occupy DC” protesters was evidently assigned to monitor Fields and her video camerawoman, following the Daily Caller crew to harass and heckle them. Fields said the protesters shouted “You’re worse than Fox” and “right-wing extremists,” called her “ugly” and made remarks about her clothing. When she attempted to conduct interviews, Fields said, “an individual would jump in front of the camera and stop the interview, or block it with a piece of paper or cardboard. . . . they talked to people who were part of Occupy DC and told them not to talk to us.”

I am reporting from lovely Fenton MO. This afternoon I spotted the following:
1) Three young people, looking very grungy, holding signs. I could only read one and it supported Ron Paul.
2) Two even even more grungy young men, holding Occupy Fenton signs.
Now, if you are familiar with Fenton, you will
understand why I laughed so hard I nearly drove off the road.
I guess our little quiet town is now on the map...

That would get you dead with me. It is my longtime policy to NEVER stop in those situations. I have seen and heard of rapes, murders, and attacks on those who stopped. Homey don't play that!

MSM always says they were “attempting to block traffic” which usually means dozens of people surrounding a vehicle, thumping and banging on it and terrifying the occupants who become desperate to escape and hit someone in the process.
