“Perry will get slaughtered by Obama in the debates.”

“Absolutely. It is my first and only reason for switching away from Perry, who I initially supported.”

==

This is “absolutely” incorrect. I hope you will re-consider your current perception.

In a debate with Obama, there will be two people on the stage, and policy and RECORD compared. Perry can stand toe-to-toe with Obama and WIN on his record. Nobody else has a positive record to compare with Obama’s dismal one.

Cain is Obama in 2008 — all promises, no record. Most people understand that the issue is job creation, not who is the best motivational speaker. And Perry has a record on that, as well as a record of leadership, low taxes, low regulations and yes, strong on border security.

In the general election Cain would collapse. He is making gaffes left and right, the media isn’t pursuing it, until the general election. One example is the electric fence, no I was only joking, no I wasn’t joking. And there are a lot of other similar ones.

Amen.

All bluster all the time. No Record

Oh, my, you could not be more correct.

Cain is a novelty candidate, a fad, someone with no record who has done very badly when confronted with his first real test.

He will not get the black vote. His wife probably won’t vote for him since she’s a democrat. His fellow church members will probably vote Obama.

I think he (and possibly Romney) would give us the only chance to lose to Obama.

I tend to agree with you about Cain. I’m gradually shifting towards Gingrich, though I know I’m opening myself up to a flood of posts the contents of which I already know, having written a lot of the exact same words myself in the past.

But I don’t give a sh*t. I’m going to support who I feel like supporting and that will never be Mitt, never be Huntsman, and probably never be Paul (though I could even be talked into Paul, depending on circumstances).

If Perry gets the nomination, I will back him with all my heart and soul. But he’s not going to do that. Perry is dead in the water. Perry is the incarnation of a Great Communication Gap and in the 21st century you can forget that.

Look at how he got rolled on the “illegal tuition” issue, an issue that most people got 90% wrong and yet he was totally and completely unable to explain even 10% of it.

Forget Perry. This is a 21st century campaign. You can’t expect a Reagan, but you definitely can’t go with someone LESS articulate than GW Bush.

And that’s what Perry is. Less articulate that Bush. Much, much less.

(And Bush is NOT articulate, at all.)
