I rarely, if ever, agreed with Andy Rooney, but he was paid to deliver political and social “commentary”. He never pretended to be a jounrnalist. IMO, the major problem with today’s media is that they don’t separate “commentary” from “news”. I know this is oxymoronic, but agenda now drives journalism. I say R.I.P., Mr. Rooney. You made us think and laugh at the same time. I often came away aggravated, but opinion pieces create that feeling. That’s what they’re for.
