While, personally, I greatly appreciate the zotting of jla. Why? Because she/he constantly shredded Gov Palin during Palin’s different appearances. But...jla was not ‘zotted’ during that period of time. I kept asking ‘why’ (to myself) but now he/she has been zotted? Because he/she spoke out against Cain supporters? I don’t get it.
A few days ago I was called everything from ignorant to a racist by a longtime FReeper, and what happened? Jim Robinson freepmailed ME asking ME, to “let it go”; when I defended myself, MY posts were removed and the despicable FReeper was allowed to continue his tirade against me simply because I disagreed that Cain is the person to take the helm of the Presidency (and this was BEFORE all this crap that is currently being used against him).
Now, jla has been zotted. Yeah... but what for? Because he/she spoke against a Cain supporter?
Excuse me please, I’m a Ozark Hillbilly here, but it seems to me that there are alot more vile comments being made on other threads, about any number of subjects, but those posters seem to get a pass. So please forgive me, I’m just a Ozark Hillybilly looking to understand.
Everyone can jump up and down and celebrate the zotting of jla and other various freepers, but I’m really trying to understand what the base line, ground zero is here. I’m for Gov Perry; I’ve researched him and his background; I’ve talked with various TX freepers and wonder, will I get zotted too?
As I’ve said numerous times, Free Republic saved my sanity in 2008. I joined just before the election and truly believed I found an ‘on-line’ home with like minded conservatives. Now...I see others getting the ‘zot’ for simply opposing the status quo. It’s very disheartening.
Like I mentioned before I’ve been called several names that personally, I wouldn’t utter in my sleep. But those freepers that did that get a pass? So I guess I’m a bit naive in thinking that posters that abuse others should be ‘zotted’.
Thanks for taking the time to read this; I still believe that FR is the ‘Premiere Conservative Site’ on the web but it’s upsetting when ‘Conservatives’ get zotted.
BTW........HAPPY BIRTHDAY JIM. :) I haven’t been on the FReepathon threads but remember from last year that, (I believe) today is YOUR birthday! I’m a fellow ‘scorpio’ (Sheila is too?)....so Happy Birthday to US!
Sometimes it takes me awhile to get a belly full of an abusive poster, but I finally did with jla. Yes he was a major trasher of Palin and her supporters on FR and now he’s trashing Cain and his supporters. Mr. jla appears to be a person who wishes only to trash our leading conservative hopefuls. No thanks.
In your case, there was no clean hands. You were flaming other posters as much as they were flaming you. You were asked to just let it go and extract yourself from the flamewars.
