How about looking at it this way. Cain knew what the media would do and suckered them all in. Why should he wage a conventional response so they would know what he’d do. He did what they did not expect. That is vintage Cain.
He counter attacked by accusing Perry of doing this. He has gotten tens of millions in free publicity. He is at record popularity. He is at record fund raising and today it is as if the scandal never happened. The press has gone mum. Perry has been blinsided by Cain’s accusation and has no reponse. The press is killing this lynching becasue the higher they lynch Cain the more popular he becomes.
I’d say he played the suckers in the media and establishment Republicans like a fiddle and he is the winner here in every respect. See:
As time goes on he will adorn his walls with talking head trophies and establishment trophies. The more they attack Cain the better he does. Plus we get to see what kind of CEO he is. So far I love what I am seeing.
