Adding to the ongoing Herman Cain sexual harassment controversy, two sources have now confirmed to PJ Media that a female employee of the National Restaurant Association told associates she had been brought by Mr. Cain to his Crystal City, Virginia residence where she alleged “he had taken advantage of me.”
One source, a male, told PJ Media:
Herman took advantage of seniority and power with a young woman. It was an abuse of power.
Implying that coming forward with the accusations was an ordeal for the young woman, the source also said:
Who do you believe, a CEO or a mid-level staffer? It was unsettling for her to make charges.
The name of the woman — who was in her early twenties at the time of the alleged incident — has been confirmed by PJ Media. We have chosen not to reveal her identity for reasons of discretion.
Both sources, one male and one female, worked at the time — mid-1990s — for the governmental affairs department of the National Restaurant Association, as did the woman.

btw, in addition to the positive polls post sliming, his coffers are being filled by conservatives angry with this kind of absurd and baseless personal attack.

I don’t, depending on what you call “abuse.” Because from what I’ve read, I don’t see any reason to conclude there was abuse. Nothing of that sort has been alleged, has it? Only bad feelings and uncomfortability due to non-overtly sexual words and/or gestures. You may as well tell me I better not pretend murder is right. Well, okay, but what does that have to do with what we’re talking about? Why bring up rape and abuse when the stories haven’t?

What does one have to do with the other? Why would conservatives underreacting give you license to bring up rape and abuse and pretend like we know there were real victims, when we don’t?

Assuming this is true...
Seems he could have paid the cab to take her to her own home instead of his apartment.
Especially since the drunk girl was likely close in age or younger than his own daughter.

No, and if there were a sliver of evidence for it, you know they’d be implying it with a big, bright, golden exclamation point. Nevertheless, they want the reader to think of rape, obviously, and many have taken the bait.
I mentioned rape because it is an incredible hurt that can devestate a family. And those whose families haven’t gone through it don’t understand.
I don’t think these allegations are about rape, although a subordinate feeling pressured into sex with a boss is rape. I do not think that is what happened with Mr. Cain. I was just reaching out to a fellow freeper, who is obviously hurting.
Ron....don’t try and make me out to be against Cain..I am not against him, but he is not my first choice.
I continue to listen to Cain on Hannity and he is much on the defensive....blamming everyone and anyone...and he’s highly irritated with the whole ordeal. He does not understand this is his test, rather he continues to play into the hype. That is not how to control a crisis.
I don’t think the truth has come out yet. And I am not willing to call someome a liar based upon a third party’s account of what happened to her. I’m not going to call Cain a liar even though his story has changed, I get that he might not remember perfectly. But the fact is, the women have not come out publicly and given their side of the story. And so I will not call them a liar either.
I will wait until both sides have given a final version before assuming I know the whole story.

Sexual congress between high-status men and lower status women is the history of the world. A wink, a nod, a sigh, a "maybe" - how can you possibly turn any of that into rape?
If it's "real" rape, that's one thing. But sexual intimacy that goes bad later?
Calling that "rape" is a lie, and a vile one at that.

Yes, I am listening and hearing him....can’t believe some of what he’s saying...his approach is wrong and highly defensive in handling this crisis.
He is trying but this is not how to do the job...it hurts to see such a good man bungle it this way.
I don’t know. This was in the 1972-1975 time frame, and I never heard about it again.
