I remember there being a couple of Godfather's Pizza places here in the 90s...haven't seen one since I started going to the desert and coming home from my little adventures sporadically.

Guess the business climate here was too competitive? ;-)

It lists GF’s pizza in Texas.

I know there was GF in Texas in the 80’s. Gattis was better but they went buffet and have pretty much disappeared, too.

Papa Johns seems to have hung in alright and expanded since then.

Of course there’s always Domino’s and Pizza Hut—Pizza Hut was too expensive(cost vs product) and Domino’s too cheap and yuck.

Dominoes has re-worked their recipe and Pizza Hut has tried to get more competitive with pricing.

I think the chain-stores blow it by trying to branch out and compete in too many areas and end up mastering none of it and blowing a lot of money doing it.

Everybody tried to do buffet, delivery yada. They just end up with a less impressive product and fewer happy customers.

/pizza yammer off

no idea why I went on about that...but I did. :p
