I respect your logic for not supporting Romney, but supporting him if he gets the nomination. I did the same thing for McCain last year.
But here is the problem. The GOP E knows this. So, they take us for granted and do what they can (just watch FoxNews and Rove) to eliminate all conservatives.
So, I think it is beneficial for the GOP E to understand that if they choose to foist Romney on us and thus give us Obama, we will survive.
Romney will never beat Obama, he doesn’t have the ObamaCare issue and he will be on the defensive against a multitude of serious flip flops and liberal positions such as abortion, global warming, gay marriage, RomneyCare.
We are in a big disagreement there. I have a hard time seeing a strong conservative defeating Obama and every poll shows it right now. The only GOP candidate that leads Obama in some polls or is within striking distance in the one that folks here cringe the most about.
I certainly understand your GOP E concerns. I long ago left the GOP and have been an independent for over a decade because the party is so jacked. That being said, it’s the only party in a two party system that can defeat the Democrats. In 1992 I voted 3rd party as a “protest” vote and I have said ever since I would never do that again. Protest votes end up delivering the worst of consequences.
