I still find it funny how many are shocked that a private website freely chooses to include the content it wants and exclude content it doesn’t want. I haven’t seen gardening threads on motortrend forums or welding threads at egullet.

That was my exact thought when someone mentioned the comments under the article. You're just a faster and much better writer than I am.

It's JR's site and he can impose whatever rules he sees fit. However, some those rules do change the nature of the site - in my opinion - from a broad-based conservative website to a more narrowly based evangelical website

I have been visiting this site for years, and am firmly convinced that there is not one conservatism, but many, and that there are very few - if any - beliefs that are shared by all who might call themselves conservative or libertarian or Republican.

Sometimes it has seemed to me that a broad interpretation of the 2nd Amendment (upfolding the right to individual gun ownership) might be the only belief that virtually all conservatives share. But even there, you will find differences about banning certain types of weapons for private use, or involving restrictions about how guns are bought and sold.

So whereas I uphold JR's right to run his site as he sees fit, I think it is a mistake to make too long a laundry list of what constitutes a "real" conservative or a "real" Republican.
