The opposition is Obama.

I know you and others recognize this. What I absolutely cannot wrap my brain around is the notion that Obama and Romney are the same. Romney is inarguably the *least* conservative candidate on the Republican side. I do not support him. I will not campaign for him. I will vote for him in the general election if, God forbid, he is the nominee.

The only thing Romney said in the 2008 campaign season that I believed was that he hated the Yankees. That’s it, and that had nothing to do with anything of real importance. Romney’s a used car salesman. That said, I believe at the very least he would be more pro-business than Obama and likely more pro-America when it comes to defense. I can’t know that for a fact and I don’t take him at his word. But like I said earlier, a third party candidate hasn’t won an electoral vote since 1832. It’s one or the other. If it’s 0% (Obama) or whatever percentage Romney might be (and I do *not* believe it’s 0%) then I feel obligated to support the candidate who better represents me.

You and I (and many others here) clearly have differences of opinion on what a vote means. I’ve spent years arguing with Navy officers on differences of opinion and I imagine you have as well. At the end of the day, though, we are on the same side.

The opposition is Obama and people like him. Romney is a liberal progressive. Look at his record. His position on many of our beliefs is identical to Obama’s.

Pro-abortion. Pro-gay rights. Pro-gun control. Pro-mandates. Pro-global warming. Pro-big government. Pro-socialist healthcare.

“I’m not going to return to Reagan-Bush! I was an independent during Reagan-Bush!” Spit! —Mitt Romney (the non-Tea Party, elite’s choice candidate)

Romney is Obama-lite.

No thank you. No Romney!!

The opposition is Obama.

That seems to be the popular thought. We have to elect anyone but Obama. I disagree in that I view the ENTIRE political establishment elite as the opposition, GOP included. Our country isn't in this mess because of Obama only. The Elites are depending on us to rally to whoever they choose to run. I'm not playing that game... again. We either nominate a true political game-changer to restore our constitutional government or risk getting stuck with Obama for four more years.

“The opposition is Obama.”

If Rommney wins the primary we deserve 20 more years of misery under either him or Obama.

‘But like I said earlier, a third-party candidate hasn’t won an electoral vote since 1832.’

Wrongo.

In the 1912 Presidential election, Progressive Theodore Roosevelt garnered 88 electoral votes.

In the 1924 Presidential election, Progressive Robert M. LaFollete garnered 13 electoral votes by winning the state of Wisconsin.

In the 1968 Presidential election, American Independent George Wallace garnered 46 electoral votes by winning the states of Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and Georgia. In North Carolina, one Nixon elector cast his vote for George Wallace.

Try again...
