Agreed. There is something about Romney that I cannot stomach.

Like another poster said, he justs wants it too much. He is a RINO and yes, that is much worse that Bi BO. Like an invisible, insidious cancer destroying everything it touches. And the Republican party will never recover.

Right, so if it comes down to it, we’ll all go ahead and vote for Obama or sit out because the REPUBLICAN PARTY will never recover. I don’t care one whit about the GOP. I care about my country. Aside from that, believing that one candidate will destroy a party is patently insane. Jimmy Carter was out of office for 28 years before Obama took office (and only twelve years before the next Democrat took office).

The official policy of Free Republic should be “we don’t give a damn about the country, we care about taking down Romney” because that’s how most of you act. I know of exactly zero Mitt supporters on this site and now I know why. I know of a few people who have mentioned that Mitt is their last choice (as well he should be) but should it come down to it, they at least recognize the real enemy. I am in this camp. Romney is the least palatable of the existing candidates and I am an ardent Cain supporter, but should things change I will not sit this election out. I’ve seen the damage Obama can do. I’ve personally experienced it.

I’m 30 and I live in a swing state. I do not have the luxury of not caring because my time here is short. I also do not have the luxury of not caring because my vote is irrelevant. Jim has both and many of you here do as well. My vote matters and I recognize that no matter how bad you are all convinced Romney might be, he’s not Obama. Those who believe there is no difference between the two are nearly delusional. My vote does not represent total agreement with a candidate - if it did, I’d never vote. I recognize that because of the broken two-party system we have, it’s either the Democrat or the Republican. One of the two will take power - a third-party candidate hasn’t even won an electoral vote since 1832. I need to chose which of those candidates better represents my views and the general good of the country.
