Romney is an absolute nightmare. If it’s Romney vs Obama, I may sit this one out!
Anti-Mormon bigotry? I'm here virtually every day and I have not seen it.
Politico is supporting Willard because they know he will continue Obamacare and other policies of the present “regime”.
Poor Willard! He’s been campaigning since 2008, spent a pile of his own (and others’) cash, and is getting whipped by a CONSERVATIVE.
Just DANG!
Oh Noes! Now Politico doesn’t like FR either?
Mitt and Obama...two peas in a pod.
Romney may wage war on individual freedom, liberty and conservative values. I say “bring it on!!!”
When a “Blog Pimp” tries to hijack a thread for propaganda purposes, the thread will probably be pulled, i.e. THE ZOT!!.
So long as the debate is rational and cordial, a thread will not be pulled because of a liberals political positions.
In the Main Stream Media (Fox excepted) there is great censorship of conservative views. The Main Stream Media rarely lies,(Dan Rather excepted) but will take selected stories and edit them to their liking and it turns into a very left wing presentation. The also censor news that shows the left wing in an unfavorable light.
Free Republic is much more open to opposing opinions than the Main Stream Media.
Who cares about this Robinson guy, what does Jim Thompson think?
time for somebody to appoint themselves leader of the anti-Romney grassroots and sign people up for activity in IA and SC.
I am unavailable. Fred?
The comments on Politico are interesting and insightful. For example, here's Juliet Giles telling us what's on her mind:
this group peopel dont like mormons romeny also dont like wealthy romeny romeny dont buy the whte house ur issue not very good here; all along ur obma care link to romeny care and etc. we all put back rikc perry now; no to cian -sexual harassment either.
Well it aint like he hasn’t gone on a ban spree before. Gays, Giuliani supporters, Romney, and I’d bet Perry supporters will soon be in the cross hairs. In short, anyone he doesn’t agree with.
At least the published the mission statement as is. I would have expected them to paraphrase it in some nasty way.
Then again, Mr. Smith probably only gave himself two or three minutes to write the story before giving himself the rest of the morning off for a well-deserved Starbucks recharge.
Mitt Romney also supports homo activists in their war against the Boy Scouts.
Starting during the Clinton Administration (does the name Roberta Achtenberg ring a bell?) the Boy Scouts came under relentless fire by the Democrats and their newsrooms for rejecting the idea that they, the Boy Scouts of America, should welcome homosexual scout leaders into the organization and let them take little boys off into the woods. Boy Scouts leaders didn’t think this was such a good idea. Naturally, Massachusetts Mittens sided with the homo activists.
Below are a couple of columns from 10 and 12 years ago about the Boy Scouts being turned away by Mitt Romney and the Olympics Committee for volunteer work on the Salt Lake Olympics. The Boy Scouts had been very active and high profile at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics and were looking forward to participating once again. But the Boy Scouts had just won an important Supreme Court case (in June 2000 the Supreme Court ruled that the BSA was a private organization that could choose whoever they wanted as scout leaders and could therefore reject sodomites) and the Democrats/homos were still mighty ticked off about it. Massachusetts Mittens could always be counted on to pander to homo activists, of course, so he gladly came up with a lame lie of an excuse for turning the Boy Scouts away from the Salt Lake Olympics. The Boy Scouts’ disappointment was palpable, and Mitt Romney never returned their calls.

So what’s the problem. FR is built and supported by the Robinson’s and by voluntary donations that presumably will cease when those donating no longer feel the site is worthy of their support.
So where is their standing to “complain” that RINO-licking is somewhere between discouraged and prohibited here? Are they taking their belief in collectivism so far as to say that if you build a website, you’re not allowed to determine what goes on there? Aren’t these the same nanny-statists that always want to hold people responsible for what third parties do on their premises??
Yes, yes but what does Jim Thompson think abut Romney?
Jim Rob referred to moi as an ass kisser of Mitt and other similar things for exploring the possibility that lemonade could be made out of the lemon waffle that is Mitt if in spite of all effort Mitt ends up the GOP nominee — a hypothetical outcome of which I am definitely not in favor. I make it no secret I am a Cainiac. Jim and I had a few words about it, but as you can see I haven’t gotten zotted yet, unlike another person who just blindly kept pushing Mitt and who blamed opposition to the idea on “hating Mormons.”
I am trying to approach it in as good humor as possible — see my tagline. I mean what the hell am I going to do, be a bull in a china closet here then go kvetch about the result on DU, where they would not be able to stand me for five minutes? The tension about Mitt here is clearly higher than it was in 2008 and Jim has taken an audacious stand.
I’m more right-wing than I am conservative so these Obama butt-lickers on politicrap may be unto something..

Subject: Question about Mitt Romney Central post
Hi Jim,
My name is Emily Schultheis, and Im a reporter for POLITICO. We saw this post on Mitt Romney Central alleging that RedState and Free Republic block Romney supporters from commenting: http://mittromneycentral.com/2011/10/29/red-state-and-free-republic-declare-war-on-mitt-romney-supporters-for-some-reason/
I just wanted to reach out and see if youd seen it, and get your comment. Does Free Republic ban people from commenting? And if so, what are the criteria used?
Thanks,
Emily

Yes, I saw it:

And added my editorial comment and links to the end of the post and also posted comments to the thread.
Free Republic is a pro-life, pro-family, pro-gun, pro-small government, pro-constitution, pro-liberty site. Governor Romney is none of the above. His record is that of an abortionist, gay rights pushing, gun grabbing, global warming advocating, big government, mandate loving, constitution trampling, flip-flopping liberal progressive with no core values. That and the fact that he is the chief architect and advocate for ObamaCare disqualifies him for any consideration whatsoever on Free Republic as a potential nominee for the presidency.
The mission of Free Republic is to restore the constitution as the supreme law of the land and to secure the blessings of Liberty for ourselves and our posterity. We do this by fighting for constitutionally conservative causes and candidates.
Liberal progressives and other enemies of the constitution and or of Liberty itself are not welcome here. Accounts registered here by liberal progressives and other assorted trolls, malcontents and disruptors will be removed on sight or at the convenience of the site administrators.
I have posted statements in this regard many times.
For example:

And heres one specifically addressing Mitt Romney:

This may be a bit hard for partisans, progressives, socialists and RINOs to understand, but FR stands on principle first. The constitution and the first amendment guarantees our God-given rights to free speech, free press and freedom of association as well as our right to control the content, use and direction of our own personal private property and electronic printing press, i.e., freerepublic.com.
For God, Family, Country, Life and liberty!

Jim Robinson
