Racial stereotypes are perhaps the most pernicious of all hidden racism, and the data dump released this weekend on Herman Cain plays to the most vile of human impulses.
The headline allegation is that Cain engaged in sexual harassment. The rest of the story is that there is nothing to the charge and Cain is the victim of a racial smear.

Why is Mr. Rove attacking his fellow Republicans? I used to defend him when the Dems wanted him indicted over Valerie Plame. If he hadn’t opened his big mouth then, he wouldn’t have gotten in trouble.
Which posits an interesting question: how often do Rove and Palin disagree, and who has the edge in “success?”
Why couldn’t it be a Dem/MSM hit all the way? They have a long history of 1) racism, 2) trying to clear the field of minority and woman Republicans as early as possible, before the general public learns that such people exist, and 3) driving wedges between and among Republicans (by, eg, getting a finger-pointing game going among us), all of which are objects of this ridiculous smear attempt.
I’d say it’s more likely to be Dem operatives than any Republican, as they have the most to gain from both the underlying allegations and the mutually destructive accusations that fall out from it.
So who told Politico?
This is not meant to be personal at all but just look at all the different articles on the subject that have been put of on FreeRepublic today. Even we conservatives have "human impulses". But of course we wouldn't consider ourselves "vile".
The just seems to a strange magnetic force that draws us all to the sensational.
I don't know what motivates good people to seek office in this Republic any longer, knowing they will be savaged by their opponents, press, and the public at large.
Again, not at you, but our Republic really is decaying from the inside out.
Make no mistake: Cain is due for the same treatment they have given Palin for 3 years.....
The story had to originate somewhere so who knew about the story? There may only have been a limited number of people who knew, one would have been Cain himself, and the women, of course and probably some attorneys.
Really? No way? Do you remember Delaware? Anything is possible when RINOs are involved.
You said a mouthful there. Soak em down, shake em up with flour and they all look the same.
Hitmen like Politico are are always muckraking on their own, I don’t think they need anybody from any of the other candidates camps to tell them what to look for. It could have been anybody who had knowledge of the situation at the National Restuarant Association, families or friends of the women who brought the accusation, or even the women themselves. Who knows who let tha cat out of the bag? Politico isn’t saying.
Too many unanswered questions. We do not know and it’s not fair to falsely accuse anyone.
Please stop this stuff. Really, it is sort of sickening and very tired.
CAN ANYONE VERIFY THE OFFICIAL CAIN 2012 WEBSITE WHERE ONE CAN GIVE DONATIONS TO HIS CAMPAIGN? Frankly, I don’t trust the internet too much these days, need the REAL ONE.
I think it smells more like current Chicago, Illinois style politics, but I am only guessing. I know no more about it than you do.
Not so sure it actually hurt the dog, but it was stupid to strap his carrier to the top of the car. Had the dog panicked, nobody would have known.

I’m pretty sure, as an RN, they knew the dog panicked when the diarrhea was seen on the window. And if that isn’t bad enough, they hosed him down so he also got to be cold and wet in the wind. This is quite a far stretch from a dog sticking it’s head out the window or riding in the bed of a truck. I’m sickened beyond words hearing about this. May he experience what his dog did.
And I forgot to add- you can tell a man by how he treats his dog. Nuff said.
Don't confuse the issue with rationality. On this thread there are a lot of seriously disturbed people in need of help. Scapegoating makes them feel better.
This makes the most sense because the Dems and libs would have waited for this one to break in October 2012 where the most damage could have been done to Cain.
This was a Republican job and has Rove’s fingerprints all over it. The great thing about this is that all of the dirt will be out on Cain when Cain is the nominee.
