"The sources said nearly 80 percent of Romney’s former staff was absorbed by McCain and these individuals were responsible for what amounts to a premeditated, last-minute sabotage of Palin."

So it's rumored that Romney people who went to work for McCain spread rumors about Palin or badmouthed her.

But who's to say that the rumors about the rumor-spreaders are actually true?

I'm searching names from Romney's 2008 campaign. I've found one who went on to work for McCain. There are probably others, but 80% of Romney's staff? That's doubtful.

McCain would have had his own people. Romney people wouldn't necessarily have had the inside track on new McCain campaign job openings. Those closest to Romney would have remained inside his operation, and many of others would have found other, lower-level campaigns to work on.

If we apply the same skepticism to the rumors you spread as we do to those you condemn, we may get a different picture of what was going on.

There’s a big, immediate ramping up of experienced staff from a primary to general election, and it is quite credible that that’s where lots of MittWitts went, and that Palin sabotage is a lot of what they did.
