Smoking is smoking. It isnt aligned to any philosophy. True...But 31% of liberals smoke compared to 20% of conservative. And yes, if Cain want's to push the smoking angle he will gain libertarian votes but at the cost of social conservative votes. I know, I know it's neither, it's a FREEDOM issue. Just doesn't seem to be a smart move.

He'll move on to other fields soon - this just picked up targeted groups of outsiders (smokers and liberty conscious voters). BTW, you ought to have heard one of my District caucus a few years ago (circa: Bush 2) when the pubbie lunkhead moderating proposed a smoking ban in all public places in MN (of course, MN eventually got it with pubbie help). Conservatives went nuts and the establishment RINO’s backed down (for the moment). FWIW, the ban has killed scores of legitimate businesses and is, in fact, a grotesque seizure of private liberty by the MN left and their socialist-lite opposites in the pubbie Party.
