I have often said "There is but one product - customer happiness". Lately it seems I've been saving the day on basically a daily basis for one of our bigger customers, and it's been quite satisfying on a personal level. (Which sounds like something you are not unfamiliar with.)
I normally like being involved in solving technical problems, but these days it seems the real needs I encounter are in optimizing business processes.
When I retire, though ... well, all those engineers in Asia better watch out! :)
Sounds like one of your gifts (amongst the variety of your others :-) is solving problems. No matter what their origin--processes, technical etc. You are a solution man! Combine that with your investment in customer happiness--you said:
