If our Constitution really meant something the federal Department of Education would never have come into existence...but it doesn’t, so it did.

We only need the Department of Defense, Justice, Treasury, and State. ALL of the rest need to be unfunded, shut down, and erased from existence.

Even if we go back to when the Department of Education was started in 1979, we still don't see any significant increase in test scores in the US, let alone compared to the rest of the world.

It depends on what test scores you look at. If we tested them on knowledge of gay marriage, alternative sexual lifestyles, and the value of diversity in all its non-productive forms, I'll bet scores would be way up. It's only if you look at marketable skills that our Department of Education is a catastrophic failure.

Nothing the Dept. of Education does that can’t be done by the states...
...same song for environment, energy, agriculture, etc., etc., etc.

Created by the Department of Education Organization Act (Public Law 96-88) and signed into law by President Jimmy Carter on October 17, 1979, it began operating on May 16, 1980.

Who would've thought it was Carter that started this boondoggle?

Now, legal plunder can be committed in an infinite number of ways. Thus we have an infinite number of plans for organizing it: tariffs, protection, benefits, subsidies, encouragements, progressive taxation, PUBLIC SCHOOLS, guaranteed jobs, guaranteed profits, minimum wages, a right to relief, a right to the tools of labor, free credit, and so on, and so on. All these plans as a whole — with their common aim of legal plunder — constitute socialism.

Now, since under this definition socialism is a body of doctrine, what attack can be made against it other than a war of doctrine? If you find this socialistic doctrine to be false, absurd, and evil, then refute it. And the more false, the more absurd, and the more evil it is, the easier it will be to refute. Above all, if you wish to be strong, begin by rooting out every particle of socialism that may have crept into your legislation. This will be no light task.

Stop the federal funding to commie locales, and privatize it completely.

Most of these departments were NOT created to improve ANYTHING! They were created to increase the size of government, to increase the number of featherbedding bureaucrats, and to exponentially increase the number of guaranteed votes for anyone campaigning on promises to continue and/or increase the government largesse!

Get rid of it. Good idea. Followed closely by the Dept of Energy, DHS, and HUD.
