Look at the body language...........that speaker keeps shacking his head "NO", when he is supposedly speaking in favor of Cain.
And the smoking, at the end, is puerile and meaningless.
Are they going for some sort of retro-chic, Mad Men vibe, maybe? Otherwise, I don't get it.
Undecided smokers throughout the country prefer Cain in larger numbers than before.
You betcha.
Advertising people don't put meaningless things in commercials, even in Internet political ads. They showed something that caught peoples attention. No one has seen smoking in an advertisement on television in thirty years. Maybe there wasn't a message in there for you and that's fine. Ads are targeted to specific groups. The speaker in the video talked about running an unconventional campaign. They made an unconventional ad which broke an advertising and political taboo. Some people will now associate "unconventional" or "real" with the campaign.
As for the head shaking, it goes with the text. "If I DIDN'T believe that..." "We've run a campaign like NOBODY'S ever seen." and "Americas NEVER seen a candidate like Herman Cain." He's reinforcing his words with body language. If he was nodding during those sentences it wouldn't fit. Clever advertising.
They obviously weren't taking into account all the language-stunted viewers who rely solely on head movement to interpret what somebody is saying.
Yeah, I noticed that. But I've never really bought into the body language thing. People have different ways of expressing themselves. This man is shaking his head the way someone does when he can't totally articulate something awesome.
