Afghanistan and Pakistan will ally with China being their benefactor. We will leave Iraq open to Iran. Egypt, Libya and Tunisia will be Islamic states along with Egypt. Syria and Turkey are wild cards, but I expect Syria to fall next. So there will be an Islamic crescent running from Afghanistan to Tunisia. Sudan, Somalia, and Yemen could easily be in the contiguous Islamic group. The caliphate however will take some major event to form out of these disparate populations. Still a lot of tribal war and disparities in GNP to work out. A strong US energy policy is now as it always has been a national security priority.
