i don't think the size of it's population or the amount of it's resources has anything to do with how ambitious it population is nor how it spends it's tax revenue... don't forget they had to assimilate East Germany too
Germany is just as socialistic as Greece or France. The difference is that it has more population, more resources, and a tradition of scientific inquiry.
