That "gang of thugs" were operating on behalf and the behest of officially recognized goverment of Libya. They were supported by NATO air strikes and advisors plus given weapons. Your effort to delegitimize them is intellectually dishonest.

The US "thugs" don't have the approval of the US government or the world community. You persist in calling the government militia forces who beseiged Sirte and liberated Libya as thugs. Qadaffi and his fanatical supporters are the thugs. You are defending the indefensible.

LOL. I am defending the actions of the government forces who meted out justice to a ruthless dictator who had killed and tortured tens of thousands of Libyans. Moreover, we have been trying to kill Qadaffi and his supporters for months. We have been using lethal force on a daily basis. And I doubt that anyone in NATO will decry or denounce the summary execution of Qadaffi nor will the government of Libya do so.
