Energy Catalyser: Potential game changer
October 19, 2011
BR RESEARCH

In 1985 the Norwegian music band, "A-ha" released a music video entitled "Take on me" which showed lead singer Morten Harket reminiscing over his love life as he interacts with moving images of his lover on a sheet of paper. While the song became an instant hit; the concept of an interactive multimedia device only received a baffled response of uh huh from viewers.

Fast forward to the present age and any self-respecting techie will greet mention of such technology with an unimpressed duh. Bottom line technology is evolving rapidly and it is creating new possibilities every day.

Fortunately, technological advances are not restricted to personal entertainment devices. In fact, as the worlds energy needs continue to mushroom, alternative energy has been the buzzword among visionary inventors and savvy investors.

These visionaries, keen on riding the waves of innovation, are eyeing a promising new technology on the horizon that could wash away conventional energy generation technologies. On October 28, Italian inventor Andrea Rossi and his associate Sergio Focardi will test their invention called the "Energy Catalyser" (E-Cat).

Rossi contends that this apparatus is capable of "carrying out nickel and hydrogen exothermal reactions". Put simply, the E-Cat is supposed to carry out a fusion reaction which converts a Nickel atom, into a Copper atom, releasing heat as a consequence. This heat can be channellised to power electrical devices, vehicles or machinery much like a steam engine.

Of course, there are many doubts surrounding this development. Chief among which is that theoretically, fusion reactions with any element, heavier than Iron (such as Nickel or Copper) are endothermic, not exothermic. In other words, the E-Cat apparatus would end up using more energy than it generates and would, hence, fail to live up to its intended purpose.

While there are at least as many sceptics of the E-Cat as there are fans; the scheduled test has drawn global attention. If the apparatus is able to achieve what Rossi and Focardi claim; it could radicalise power generation and reign in global demand for fossil fuels.

The "low energy nuclear reaction" would drive down the cost of power generation to a fraction of the cost incurred in even the cheapest conventional techniques such as hydro-power generation. Such a development would undoubtedly be a game changer for countries like Pakistan which are struggling to cough up resources enough to bridge the ever-widening chasm between the demand and generation capacity of electricity.

Even if the E-Cat actually does what it is supposed to create energy at a miniscule cost; it would still take some time before the technology can be adapted for large-scale power generation. Still, the potential impact of this invention is almost unimaginably far-reaching and as such the upcoming test of this technology will likely draw much attention in coming days.

So you think censorship is a good idea. But only if it is the "FRingies" who get censored, is that it??

I use to think you were a reasonably intelligent poster, but your continued "censorship" charge makes you look silly and juvenile. Grow up.

Do you acknowledge what the warthog said, “The proper mode to “prevent complicity in fraud” is to hit the “Abuse” button and let the admin. moderators decide, not vigilantism/censorship by spamming/etc. “

This is just the silliest (abuse/censorship) thing I've seen here in a long time. Oh, and by the way, I've been here as long as you. Do I really have to log in with my original screen name and prove it?

What you and your sidekick seem to be asking for, is that FR provide you with the free bandwidth to run your own personal blog with no dissent or negative discussion. I'm just a guy posting my comments and opinions on my favorite message board.

Unlike you and your sidekick, I don't ask for any special consideration in any way, and especially not for my own free (no dissent) FRingie blog page. And oddly enough, I can find my name on the donor list, but I can't find either of yours.

Grow up and quit whining.

An accurate statement of what is going on.....the "seagulling" is the text equivalent of a DOS (denial of service) attack using thread spamming. And yes, that "is" equivalent to censorship (which the major perpetrators openly acknowledge).

This is the first time I've seen it done here on FR, but it is a common tactic used by the anti-CF types in other fora concerned with CF.

If you think that opposing such a tactic is "silly and juvenile" then I'm damned glad to be "silly and juvenile".

And I think most of the posters here on FR would agree with me, and not you.

There is something wrong with your braggingly stated credentials, because no one could remain so stupid after receiving a real graduate education.

Ninety percent of what the seagulls post is anything but "discussion", but mindless drivel. I'm fine with REAL "negative discussion"....I just wish there was more of it, and less "seagulling".

LOL. Sorry....not "bragging". I "do" think that if someone has specific special background in a subject, that it is germane to say so.

Case in point....."thackney" and I disagree over some forms of "green energy", but then "thack" posts something about the petrochem. industry, I pay closer attention, because I know that he indeed has special and specific background in the area.

And in the area of chemical measurement, I "am" an expert, with background in the area on a par with "thackney"'s in petroleum.

Look up "R&D 100 award". I've won two in my lifetime, both for innovations in chemical measurement technology.

No brag, just fact.

So does calling me names make you feel better? Does it make you more correct? I think that this is a fraud, like some of his earlier work. You cite funding streams that are very unsual. I spent time tracking down experts at DARPA, ONR, NRL, NIST, Brookhaven and others and ALL of them looked at me with that “you of all people should know better.” Go back to your sand box and follow your dreams guy. At this point, I am sure that this is all you have. Well, that and empty pockets. Good luck and good day.

What you and your sidekick seem to be asking for,
***Wrong. Stalking is stalking. Against the rules.

Aside from the rules, it is obvious that the seagulls are abusing my favorite forum. Why would you want to encourage abuse of FR?

***Straw argument. None of that is what we’ve been talking about.

I’m glad you support FR.

I think that this is a fraud, like some of his earlier work.
***I don’t think Rossi was convicted of fraud.

You cite funding streams that are very unsual.
***And that means... what? to anyone?

I spent time tracking down experts at DARPA, ONR, NRL, NIST, Brookhaven and others and ALL of them looked at me with that “you of all people should know better.”
***Of course they do. And when this technology breaks out, they’ll be the first ones to tell you that they thought there was something there all along.

Go back to your sand box
***You first

and follow your dreams guy.
***Make sure you check with others to see what you should say first, and how you should act, and who you are. They define you. You’ll ask them what to think instead of check on the facts and think for yourself. Pathetic.

At this point, I am sure that this is all you have. Well, that and empty pockets.
***Wrong. I have money in my pocket by betting on Yoshiaki Arata’s LENR experiment being replicated in a peer reviewed journal. That’s why I’m so itchy to take your money... er, I mean have you take my money.

Your post doesn’t make sense as a response to #103.

I'll reveal how it makes sense on the 28th.

Now just stop it, will you? For someone that doesn't like seagulls, you feed them a lot.
