Perry made some excellent points during the debate, especially his remark about de-funding the UN. He held his own & made Romney look like the lying sleaze that he is. This was Romney’s worst debate performance to date & that is mostly because Rick Perry bloodied him. “
Ah-that’s not how our conservative intelligencia saw it. Victor Davis Hanson over at NRO said Perry came off as “mean-spirited” and that Romney’s flash of anger, that didn’t hurt him at all. It was “sort of like Reagan’s ‘I’m paying for this’ moment.” Unbelievable, Romney can do no wrong I guess...
I don’t know how tonight’s debate will play for or against Rick Perry, but he proved he has a pulse. Smooth, no. He made no errors whatsoever on actual policy issues. He has the money to stay in for awhile and the rest of the field does not. It is about to thin out, or go into serious debt. Maybe Romney wants to pay their bills so they can stay in and by delaying their demise he advantages himself against the inevitable, the time soon coming when the big guns left will turn directly at him with no brush fire diversions. Perry will likely be there should Cain stumble and the rest will be predictable. Romney or Perry.
I've had it with these guys. Krauthammer, Rove, Coulter et al...people that at one time I really respected. Now, I can't stand them - they absolutely hate true conservatives and anyone outside of the elite establishment. I despise them. I can hardly watch FOX anymore because of it.
