He did not seem that way to us Tennesseeans.
Gore seemed more that way to outsiders than he did to people he represented.
That is neither here nor there. Perry has spoken to this. Perry was still a Democrat. He was looking for the candidate in the primaries that was the more conservative WHEN COMPARED to the others. He believed Gore was that candidate.
Perry acted upon his beliefs when Michael Dukakis was nominated, not Gore.
People have posted that Perry voted twice for Ronald Reagan. Not as many have posted that instead of voting for Dukakis, he voted for the Republican and Reagan’s VP for 8 yrs, George HW Bush.
And after that, he left the Democratic party.
All of this is so warmed over and hashed over, but the reason it’s still brought up after all the truth came out long ago, is that people with a candidate agenda aren’t internalizing and accepting the truth.
They want what they want, and if they can bludgeon Perry with this weapon, that’s what they do.
