I don’t particularly care for Herman Cain.

He has some negatives that annoy me and others that scare me.

I am most frightened of how he would fare in the general election.

However, the term ‘bizarre, pathological hatred’ is far more applicable to the people who hate Perry.

Get on some of the Perry threads, indicate a support for Perry and wait. You will see bizarre, pathological hatred within seconds.

Scott Rasmussen;

The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey of Likely U.S. Voters shows Cain attracting 43% support, while Obama earns 41%

Rick Perry is the only other GOP candidate to have ever held a lead against the president in this cycle. That came just as the Texas governor entered the race when he was widely perceived as the front-runner. Perry now trails Obama by double digits.

Nonsense. It is the Perry supporters who have a particularly bizarre affliction of believing he is either a solid Conservative, solidly honest and/or solidly articulate (or continuing to cling to the belief that he is “leading” in the polls). No different than the Slick Willard supporters of yore.

All those Perry haters will probably be blessed with 4 more years of Obama if Cain or Romney are selected. I work with well over a hundred oilfield employees here in Texas, and with one exception, all are Perry supporters. And most will stay home if it comes down to Cain and Obama. I realize this is a small sampling of people, and in Texas,but I think if Cain is the nominee, Texas will go to Obama by default. And Cain or Romney could lose other Southern states as well.
