The State-Run-Media, coupled with the Establishment elites, have been promoting him for the past 18 to 24 months, and ripping the opponents (real, or imagined), with smears, inuendo, un-sourced accusations/smear campaigns, etc., and will continue to do so right to the Republican Primary.

They promote Romney now, knowing that they'll tear him to shreds once he gets the nomination.
