Hey look, I agree with you. We all have your story. That is the America of that generation of order. Illegals come here now because they CAN. Order is dead. It is the federal government’s fault that the Ellis Island approach is dead and there is no enforcement against sneak entry. But Texas can not carry the load for the nation. If Texas is going to be forced to suck lemons they are making lemonade, by making at least taxpayers out of these people rather than Texans doling it out to them in federal programs like the states are doing who are dead broke. California for instance. Texas has all the factors to be another California but is not. Texas likes money and the freedom to make it, tax free.
I grew up in Southern CA, we moved to get away from the massive illegals taking over the state. If the feds don’t do their job, the states should and TX is falling down on it (thanks to Perry).
They won’t pay taxes because they won’t have jobs, they are still ILLEGAL and it is ILLEGAL to HIRE THEM.
My state is in the red, and doesn’t give any incentives for illegals to come or stay. Texas does.
Perry doesn’t have the balls to do what Alabama is doing. Hell, he’s too wimpy even for the Arizona solution.

Even funnier, Perry spent a month in California this summer trying to teach California how not to be California and how to be Texas. The best and brightest of California replied ‘we just can’t change our regulatory predation, it’s the law’.
All the Perry haters need to know that he intends to cure EVERY state of this fatalistic thinking by turning them red, then removing Fed interference.
