” ...were not going to vote for Perry to begin with so there is no “winning them back” to be done. “

exactly correct.
(if the hard working Perry supporters have access,
they really should explain this to Perry...)
just as most Mormons will vote for Romney, not Perry.
so, his failing to admit Mormons aren’t Christian, won’t gain him any Mormon votes, but WILL lose him evangelical votes. ...poor tactics, and dishonest also.
Perry doesn’t seem to understand who his base was.
(which is why they are leaving him in droves now...)
and if you actually read the comments at ABC, you will see that many many Christians are the ones criticising Perry,
not non-Christians:

The Coptics in Egypt are “brutalized”...Perry not so much. I’ve never liked it when politicians play the sympathy card. “Brutalized”! Gimme a break.

He has not been brutalized..brutalized is when someone beats, tortures and kills ..
he has been criticized for what he calls his Christian beliefs.. maybe even sneered at... quite a difference

If Obama can be criticized by the the religious company he kept why can’t we scrutinize Perry’s? Cain slammed Muslims and he could be criticized. Why should Perry get a pass on this?

Cain slammed Muslims? I missed that...Cain is my man!!!! Someone should say something pretty darn soon. Muslims are flooding our government. While this might not mean much to you folks out there...is it wisdom to allow them footholds in our laws? Is it wisdom to allow them to surge in when they...

the last comments should give good advice to Perry.
They show, that if Perry was MORE evangelical, he’d lose a few “moderate” votes, but would net, GAIN votes.
If he’d act like a strong Texan, who proudly carries a Bible and a gun, he’d gain votes.
...but Perry agreeing with his wife, that he’s “brutalized” because of his religion?
...that’s just pathetic.
ESPECIALLY when evangelical Perry is silent,
about the Christians around the world,
who ARE being brutalized, persecuted, raped, and killed,
for their belief in Jesus.
We get it.
If you are going to make these long winded attacks, please provide links to back up your comments. By the way, Perry never said anything about Romney’s religion. The pastor who introduced him at the values summit did later, not during the introduction. Perry said that he does not believe that the Mormon faith is a cult. You have posted this same garbage on other threads.
