No, no... its "establishment elites"!!!! Run for your life!!!!
Everyone must think as you do or we're doomed! No one can think they know a better way to take back the country! If they don't agree with you America is headed for the crapper!
Don't argue. Don't persuade...run them out of the party!!! Purity, dammit!!! That's what will save us!!
Very weak. When we object to Republican candidates who advocate about 75 percent of what we're AGAINST, in both principle and specifics, you must resort to accusing us of being "purists."
You will search in vain for an actual purist. The "purist" is a figment of your and many others' imagination. However, you will find thousands of people who accuse those who reject their candidates of being "purists."
Count yourself one of those thousands.
As a micro example; CA elected a squishy Republican as governor during the recall of a liberal. Rejected a true conservative in the process thanks to the CAGOP throwing their support behind the celebrity.
He proceeded to so tarnish the name “Republican” that EVERY elected office in CA went to the rats in the last election. Acted like a liberal in almost every sense of the term. Voters figured, what the hell, at least with a liberal I know what I’m getting vs. the “Republican” who can’t take a principled position and fight for them.
Take this to a macro level, a “Republican” President who is a Republican in name only. Proceeds to implement many of the same or similar type policies as the socialist piece of crap we have now. What purpose is served other than to essentially destroy what “Republican” stands for?
Not saying there has to be a 99.9%er, but damn, we can sure as hell do a lot better than many of the names that are running.
Your mocking of FReepers who deem the current GOP as “establishment elites” is patently absurd because that is what they’ve proven they are. They are not getting out front and center confronting the socialists for taking us down these numerous, ill-fated paths. They are complicit in these actions because they haven’t fought for their supposed principles or conservative ideals.
What would you have us call them?
