It also forces the government to increase welfare checks to cover the sales tax. Those “leeches” aren’t spending their own money. They’re spending ours. A sales tax makes them spend more of our money and it goes straight to the government. Government paying itself a portion of its revenue.

Not so sure about that sales tax ...

Good points all. I think Cain will be stronger as well. I like that he’s responding to the race mongers (”Resist we much”).

Don’t be naive. The government will simply increase their welfare checks to cover the sales tax or give them an exemption from it.

Thanks. I used the Lincoln example in a thread a couple nights ago. The whole idea of Cain not being qualified because he hasn’t held office is specious and contrary to what we believe as conservative Americans. What happened to the idea one could grow up and become president someday? Kids used to dream about that. Are we now to tell them it’s off the table unless they become career politicians first? BS!

Rasmussen is currently showing Obama leading Perry 49% to 35%. This is not good. Doesn’t mean Perry can’t beat Obama but I think independents are wary of him at this point.

Yeah, people point out how Steele didn’t have much help from blacks with his race.

The issue is, blacks in the south are different and are more conservative.

I would expect nationwide many to vote for Cain.

No problem. Just wanted to mention it before some certain people became irate at his 4th place absence.

Why would they need a go-between?

I just thought Palin could help in negotiations between Cain and Newt's brobdingnagian ego.

To be fair, Perry had 9%. ho hum

The best thing Perry could do for the nation is to endorse Cain, and hand over his organization and war chest.

Of course politicians never do things like that,

In GOP primaries the number of blacks is low so it has zero effect (e.g. even if 50% of the all black 0.01% GOP primary voters in Iowa vote for him, what is that in total..extra 2 votes?)

Same with New Hampshire too.

I was a Perry supporter when he first announced, but his debate performances have been awful. Debates aren’t always a big deal, but when they sway THIS many people, they WILL do the same in the general.

Obama could easily win just by Perry’s awful debating. Even Bush was better at debates than Perry.

Finally, agreed on Newt. I am not sure he’d settle for second, but it is worth a shot.

When asked if he would accept a VP spot, Gingrich said he would not say no. It probably would depend on who the nominee was, but Cain and Newt like and respect one another.

Social Security and Medicare are withheld separately. The plan I linked to states only payroll taxes and I believe that term refers to federal income tax withholding alone.

I agree. I have not been a Cain supporter, but I know he has not proposed a VAT. In fact, he’s been pretty clear about it being a point-of-sale sales tax.

I prefer Gingrich, but his negatives scare me.

I want a clear, no wishy-washy position from Cain on LIFE. Pro-Life is not an issue....it is a God-given, unalienable RIGHT.
