I would rather pay sales taxes then income taxes;

The sales tax is the only type tax the founding father endorsed.

“The sales tax is the only type tax the founding father endorsed.”

I don’t want to be dogmatic here, but I think they only addressed “tariffs.” Which is not the same as a sales tax on a person directly buying a product - as I understand it. Whatever, the constitution was properly ammended and ratified, as the founders designed it, to allow for an income tax. So, I prefer paying income tax. Never sales tax. Too much of my income goes to buying goods I need to live.....it zaps me too much when I have to pay sales tax. That is why, because of my military ties, I shop in military commisaries and PXs whenever I can to avoid sales tax.

By the way....George Washington had to put down a rebellion on paying a “Whiskey Tax” during his administration. Even the early U.S.A. citizens didn’t like taxes.

Herman Cain has so many good things to offer the GOP and America than the 999 plan which is already DOA. He is painting himself into a corner with it...and I don’t want him to fail over it. Being a one trick pony makes you vulnerable.
