You DO understand the sales tax replaces much of the income tax, and is harder to raise since EVERYONE sees it if you raise it?

If you’re going to judge who the best candidate is based off how much big donors they have, I guess Romney is your guy. Actually, Obammy probably is.

The tax form for 9-9-9 plan will be the size of a postcard.
IRS’s job will be heckuva lot simpler. Less agents needed.

When people get a good look at this nutty idea, Hermans poll numbers will go down the drain. Hopefully before the general election. He is the only one who is clearly beatable, even by Obama, and 9-9-9 is the reason. And Cain is stuck with it now. Bad strategy. Bad plan.

Frankly, someone making 25K/year SHOULD pay some tax, rather than relying on me to pay his taxes for him.
The bottom 50% should not be living off the top 50%.

You are so right. CBS this evening had a straightforward report on 9-9-9 and pointed out how it would hurt those at the bottom of the income ladder. A person making, say, $25,000 a year now pays no income tax. Considering the inflation rate and the cost for rent, food, gasoline, etc., youre barely surviving at that income level. Hermans plan would slap a 9% tax on your paltry income and a 9% tax on everything you buy including food, medicine, and clothing. If youre a poor person living in Pennsylvania, that sales tax would be on top of the 6% sales tax Pennsylvanians of whatever income already pay.Herman's plan would eliminate 15.3% payroll tax on that $25,000.
Did SeeBS News tell you that?

999
means losing the home interest deduction, that should do wonders for the home market!
To: BlondPatriot
If it was based on money and donations Ron Paul would have already been President twice over.

You compared 9-9-9 straight up against the current income tax. But in addition to the income tax, 9-9-9 would ALSO replace the current payroll, estate, capital gains and corporate income taxes. So if you’re going to do analysis of 9-9-9, or cite someone else’s analysis get your facts straight.
