Mislabeling historical events with the wrong century is a much more common mistake than saying 1700s or whatever. As a history professor, I hear this mistake often, even among professors. It’s not a big thing, but unfortunate, just the same. You guys sound like a bunch of liberals picking at people’s gaffs like that. We can do it all day with any one of them.

You know professors who don't know the difference between the 16th, 17th & 18th century? We're in worse shape that I thought! Oh, and it's gaffes, not gaffs. I don't usually correct spelling (I make mistakes too) but since you're a history professor, I thought I'd set you straight.
